1. Relations continuity / discontinuity between initial learning of language and literacy.
Aspects of continuity between oral and written language and discontinuity, specifically in relation to metalinguistic knowledge.

1.1. Language skills of preschool children.
1.2. Notions of “critical mass” of lexical reorganization and learning of written language.
1.3. New learning with literacy.

2. Different approaches, different educational practices.
Practices in the family, kindergarten and the first years of primary school.

21. Family context and cultural differences in relation to the combined reading, vocabulary knowledge, decontextualized language.
2.2. Teaching language (oral and written) or teach the code. Differences in practices.
